General Information and Fees

VISA TO RUSSIA

Travel to Russia requires an entry visa. The Consular Section of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in UAE issues different categories of visas to Russia based upon the purpose of the trip and the duration of stay in Russia.

Please be ready to submit the following documents to obtain a visa according to its category:

  1. Printed appointment confirmation.

  2. Application available online at http://visa.kdmid.ru (must be printed and brought to the Embassy). All questions in the application form should be answered. If a question is not applicable to the applicant, he should put "N/A". Each application form must be signed by the visa applicant personally. Incomplete visa application forms shall not be processed.

  3. Passport (Copies of the passport and residence visa).

  4. One picture of an applicant (passport size).

  5. Invitation to Russia from a host person or organisation.

  6. Medical insurance valid in the country to be visited and fully covering the period of staying in Russia (if you are applying for a multiple visa - the period of the first trip);

  7. Copies of the passport and residence visa.

  8. Paid Cash Deposit Slip (is to be given to you by the Consular Officer after familiarizing with the set of documents). Please note that we do not accept cash, credit or debit cards, personal or company checks.

Dear Applicants, when applying for a Russian visa please be advised that:

  • Non-UAE citizens should also provide proof of legality of their staying in UAE (residence visa; entry stamp for the citizens of the countries maintaining a visa-free regime with UAE) when applying for a visa.

  • In accordance with Russian laws citizens of the Russian Federation regardless of any other citizenship they may have are treated as a Russian citizens only and must travel to Russia on valid Russian documents only.

  • Visa processing starts only after the Consular Section has collected all necessary documents (including payment).

  • Visa processing fee is not refundable.

  • Type of visa or dates of entry/departure cannot be changed or extended. If your travel plans have changed after the visa issuance you have to reapply for a new visa.

  • After you have received your visa, please check all the data indicated in it and, if necessary, return it to the Embassy for corrections. The Consular Section will not be responsible for any mistakes in the visas, which were not brought to our attention prior to your departure from the UAE.

  • Any visa applicant may be interviewed by the Consular Officer, if necessary.

  • Processing time, requirements and fees are subject to change without notice.

  • In certain cases the Consular Section is entitled to consider visa applications as long as it necessary. Visa can be denied if the Consular Section has serious reasons to believe that an applicant's entry into or stay in the territory of the Russian Federation will not be desirable.

  • Please be advised that person cannot have two valid visas in one passport. In this case the first visa is to be cancelled.

The Consular Section also avails itself of the right to invite the applicants for an interview and request, if needed:

  • A bank statement from the applicant;

  • A statement from the employer regarding the applicant's wages for the preceding year/ half year, or month;

  • Documents regarding the applicant's ownership of property in the country of his citizenship;

  • A certificate on the makeup of the applicant's family.

MIGRATION CARD

In accordance with the Government of the Russian Federation Decree N 413 of August 16, 2004, "On Migration Card" when entering Russia, a foreign citizen is obliged to receive and fill out a Migration Card and present it to the official of the border control authority who, if the information entered in the migration card is consistent with the information contained in his visa and passport, puts in the Migration Card a mark on entry to the Russian Federation.

Migration Card forms are issued to foreign citizens upon entry to Russia free of charge by officials of border control agencies or representatives of organizations providing transport services to foreigners visiting Russia.

The Migration Card is kept by a foreign citizen during the whole period of his/her stay in Russia and it is submitted together with other documents for registration at the place of his/her stay in Russia.

In the event of damage or loss of the Migration Card, a foreign citizen must within 3 days notify the territorial office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia at the place of his/her stay. Once a foreign citizen submitted documents on the basis of which he entered Russia, he is issued a duplicate of the Migration Card for free.

When leaving Russia, a foreign citizen must return his/her Migration Card to an official of the border agency at the checkpoint of the Russian state border.

Attention!!!

Dear applicants,

In accordance with Russian legislation foreigner can’t enter Russia using his new passport if Russian visa is in his old canceled passport. In case of passport renewal Russian visa holder should transfer his valid Russian visa from canceled passport to new passport.

To apply for visa transfer applicant should provide the Consular section the following set of documents:

  1. Printed appointment confirmation (http://abu-dhabi.kdmid.ru/);
  2. Application available online at http://visa.kdmid.ru (must be printed and brought to the Embassy). All questions in the application form should be answered. If a question is not applicable to the applicant, he should put "N/A". Each application form must be signed by the visa applicant personally. Incomplete visa application forms shall not be processed;
  3. Passport (Copies of an old passport and cancelled passport and residence visa);
  4. Copy of valid Russian visa;
  5. One picture of an applicant (passport size);
  6. Copy of the invitation used for obtaining visa.
