Special Presidential Representative and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov meets with Deputy Secretary-General of the UAE Supreme National Security Council
On April 19, Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov met with Deputy Secretary-General of the UAE Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamsi.
The two parties had a deep-reaching exchange of views on developments concerning the situation in the Middle East and North Africa, with emphasis on the need for political settlement of crisis situations in accordance with international law, and resolute action to combat international terrorism. The situation in Syria was a particular focus of attention, including the importance of maintaining the ceasefire regime and the prospects for advancing the intra-Syrian negotiating process on the basis of UN Security Council Resolution 2254.
Mikhail Bogdanov and Ali Shamsi discussed current matters related to the strengthening of traditionally friendly Russian-UAE relations and spoke in favour of continuing a regular and trusting political dialogue and intensifying business cooperation in various areas, as well as humanitarian and cultural ties.
They reaffirmed that close and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries is in the interests of stability and security in the Middle East.
